2010/08/27· We are told one meter of plastic pipe will isolate and where plastic piping is used except for where visible there is no need to bond it. And it says in regulations one should bond the main metallic water pipe (extraneous-conductive
As long as the water pipe, gas pipe or oil pipe coming into your property are metallic, Main Bonding is compulsory in all circumstances, even when the rest of the pipes in your house are plastic. Supplementary Bonding
2013/02/02· In Piping systems British codes and standards are also used along with China codes and standards. There are many British Standards available which can be used in piping engineering. Further to my last post about Puhui Pipe manufacturer in China
2011/02/16· The homeowner then fixes a leak by installing a short piece of plastic piping. This fix is between the water heater and where the water pipe enters the structure. You have just lost the water pipe as a grounding electrode 02-06 #6 Puhui Pipe manufacturer in China
Plastic pipe is a tubular section, or hollow cylinder, made of plastic. It is usually, but not necessarily, of circular cross-section, used mainly to convey substances which can flow—liquids and gases (fluids), slurries, powders and masses of small solids. It can also be used for structural appliions; hollow pipes are far stiffer per unit Puhui Pipe manufacturer in China
2011/12/10· Topic Title: Plastic connectors used on water pipes (earthing) Topic Summary: You have discovered a water pipe in a bathroom that has been repaired at some previous time using a plastic connector Created On: 10 Deceer 2011 12:54 pm Puhui Pipe manufacturer in China
/10/20· A lot of pluers get problems installing a water softener because they do not understand the relationship between Deutsch Industrial Norme (DIN) & British Standard Pipe (BSP). Over the last few years a nuer of Puhui Pipe manufacturer in China
/03/14· I totally agree a GFI is needed in a water related system which I already have installed. He is talking about a Bonding clamp with #6 copper wire from Plastic to a grounding rod. Bonding and grounding are different. Steve
2007/08/01· In my house I had a new water main installed using the new blue plastic pipe. When I had the electrics tested, the electrician failed it because he said that the water pipe should be bonded to the main earth in the consumer unit. I told him it is a plastic pipe and so does it really need bonding ? He said he would find out and phone back, of course he never did. The rest of the copper water Puhui Pipe manufacturer in China
Figure1: Supplementary bonding in a bathroom - metal pipe installation Notes: 1. All simultaneously accessible metal (class I) equipment (e.g. electrical heaters and showers), central heating pipes, hot and cold water and waste pipes
msemack- I think you are confusing bonding isolated metallic tubing with the actual earth ground at the panel and water inlet pipe. The pluing system is not, nor ever connected to the electrical system, it is simply connected at earth ground so that it will not become connected to any "hot" electrical potential. – shirlock homes Mar 8 ''11 at 22:14
2017/01/27· Hi All there has been a useful conversation over the merits of plastic pipe (HEP2O, Speedfit etc) in the following thread: Linky which triggered another question in my mind: What are the requirements for earth bonding
/03/09· Omission of Main and Supplementary Bonding As per regulation 4184.108.40.206 BS7671: a main protective bonding conductor shall be connected to any extraneous-conductive part as previously described. However, any metallic pipes entering the building that have an insulating section at their point of entry (ie plastic) need not be connected to the main protective bonding.
2007/06/14· Nope a plastic water pipe entering the house and then being connected to a copper pipe is not an extraneous conductive part that requires main equipotential bonding to comply with BS7671 applying the definition.
Main bonding - Green and yellow conductors that connect metal pipes (gas, water or oil) from inside a building to the main earthing terminal of the electrical installation. Main bonding connections may also be made outside the Puhui Pipe manufacturer in China
2013/02/09· After phoning back the british gas engineer, he insisted, because there is both copper and plastic under our sink, we must have protective earth bonding or else he will not sign off our job. I phoned the builders back, who also insist there own point that they do not need protective earth bonding as the copper pipes under the sink change to plastic as they go throughout the house.
2012/10/04· Since the buried pipe is plastic there is no water pipe electrode but there is still a metallic water piping system. That means that the system must be bonded to the service neutral, hence the copper bonding jumper you’ve
2008/07/22· Grounding/Bonding when main pipe is plastic LarryFine said: It''s highly unlikely, though possible, to have a metallic water system where the hot and cold were not electrically joined by valve asselies and other fixtures.
2010/12/06· Due to the plastic water pipe entering & copper pipe in the house you only have to bond the copper piping so as it cannot become energized. The GEC would be 2 ground rods back to the panel and a suplement GEC may be required.
